Our MissionThe primary goal of the Sports Authority is to develop a community-wide infrastructure for quality youth sports through partnerships and collaborations designed to increase effective coordination of resources. The Sports Authority awards grants to groups and organizations that provide sports programs for underserved youth in Milwaukee County. Participation in youth sports is recognized as a vehicle to promote healthy lifestyles for youth. The Sports Authority seeks to invest in projects that have the ability to sustain youth sports programs. These programs will be able to recruit volunteers, secure new funding sources, and obtain in-kind support. In addition, these projects will also include educational information in the areas of health, nutrition, the risks of alcohol and other drug abuse and smoking.
